How long have been working in the CORD community?

One year

What contributions have you made in the past to the CORD community?

I have been participating in CORD community labs and certification brigade activities:

  • Defining principles of CORD certification;
  • Communicating with other fora (such as Linux Foundation/OPNFV) to find possible alignment between certification programs;
  • Working with ONF to understand business/marketing aspects of the “CORD-certified” program;

I helped create a CORD community lab at my company.

What are you actively working on in CORD?

  • Certification approach, process, and procedures. Connecting operator and vendor views of CORD certification
  • Community labs

Why do you feel you would be a good candidate for this position?

  • I think it is important to recognize the shifting industry paradigms in relationships between manufacturers, vendors and operators. It is important to have the contract manufacturer community better represented in ONF/CORD;
  • I bring in many years of experience in building and managing development and test teams. I understanding how these organizations function and what issues they face;
  • I combine management and development experience having worked as a software engineer and system architect before moving to management. I developed code at different levels – from device drivers to control plane protocols, network management and test scripting. My EE and CS degrees and experience allow me to feel comfortable with both hardware and software;
  • Having worked closely with product management, strategy and marketing teams I know how to build bridges between them and development/test organizations.

Are there any changes you would like to bring to the community if elected into this position?

  • I will work with vendors and operators to help evolve a network of CORD community labs. It will add an important degree of interest, visibility, and investment in CORD. I would like to see some of these labs to progress to CORD certification labs;
  • I believe a better structure is needed to connect the operator and vendor communities – especially in the context of testing, certification and orchestration;
  • I will utilize my expertise in wireless/networking to help beef up M-CORD and bring it to the level of focus/ attention where SEBA/R-CORD is today.
